EXERCISE AND SOCIAL GROUPS
Our specialist group sessions will be delivered by appropriate qualified instructors. These groups will introduce physical activity to those who need it most, especially in these ever increasing tough times and create social groups for those that COVID-19 has put a stop to these support networks which have been missed, not only to be physically active, but also for their own mental wellbeing. These groups are an escape to so many people who suffer from a long-term condition or disability and so are vitally important to our communities.
These session will take place at our softer wellbeing centres, where they have a unique appeal and are less ‘scary’ to those taking part. We will also be providing the opportunity to have a social, put the kettle on and dunk a digestive biscuit.
Due to COVID-19 many of you have have told us that you will be prioritising their finances in other ways and access to physical activity and health support may not be a priority. Many of you will be focussing on supporting you own families, putting food on the table and a roof over your heads. Therefore supporting activity through funding will enable you to access and begin to prioritise their health once more.
If you are nervous or lacking confidence about returning to indoor spaces, please let me reassure you that we have exclusive use of the studio space and easyline equipment. The changing rooms will be CLOSED so please come in appropriate clothing for some light activity as well as the necessary fluids you may need (water bottle).
